We invite you to pray along with us for the concerns within our community, our nation and our world at large. There is a prayer for each day of the month.
Give thanks for the order and beauty of created things. Pray for the work of the World Council of Churches; for the reorganisation of the Methodist Districts around London. On our District, please pray for the Sheffield West Circuit. On the Circuit, please pray for our Superintendent minister, Sean Adair, and his family.
Day 1
Give thanks for the resources of the earth. Please pray for Christians in West Africa, particularly in The Gambia & Sierra Leone; for the London District; and for the Dublin District in Ireland. On the Sheffield District, please pray for the Sheffield Mission Circuit based at Victoria Hall. On the Circuit, please pray for Catcliffe, Cental and Treeton Churches.
Day 2
Give thanks for the gift of human life. Pray today for Christians in Africa, particularly in Togo, Cote d'Ivoire, and Benin; pray for the South East District. On this District, pray for the Sheffield Brunswick Circuit. On the Circuit, pray for Joyce Barrass and her family.
Day 3
Give thanks for creative vision & inventive skill. Pray for Christians in Africa, particularly for Equatorial Guinea & Ghana; pray for the Bedfordshire, Essex & Hertfordshire District, and the Midlands & Southern District (Ireland). On our District, pray for the Sheffield Ecclesall Circuit. On the Circuit, pray for Whiston and Wickersley Methodist Churches.
Day 4
Give thanks for God's care for all people. Pray for Christians in West Africa, particularly in Cameroon & Nigeria; pray for the Birmingham District. On the Sheffield District, pray for Sheffield North Circuit. On the Circuit, pray for Revd. Neil Drayton and family.
Day 5
Give thanks for God revealed in the prophets and the scriptures. Pray for Christians in Southern Africa, particulary in South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia & Swaziland; pray for the Bolton & Rochdale District. On this District, pray for Sheffield Pilgrim Circuit. On the Circuit, pray for Clifton, Eastwood Mission & Eastwood View Churches.
Day 6
Give thanks for God's supreme revelation in Christ. Pray for Christians in Southern Africa, particularly for Zambia and Zimbabwe; pray also for the Bristol District and the Lakelands District in Ireland. On our District, pray for Sheffield South Circuit. On the Circuit, pray for Revd. Keva Green and her family.
Day 7
Give thanks for the obedience of Christ to the Father's will. Pray for Christians in East Africa, particularly for Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda; pray for the Church in Wales. On the Sheffield District, pray for the Urban Theology Unit. On the Circuit, pray for Bank Street, Princess Street & Trinity Methodist Churches.
Day 8
Give thanks for the value Christ gave to human labour. Pray for Christians in South America, particularly in Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia, & Ecuador; pray for the Cumbria District. On this District, pray for the work of the Sheffield East Circuit. On the Circuit, pray for Revd. Jan Hardy and her family.
Day 9
Give thanks for the strength Christ gives to his disciples. Pray with Christians in South America, particularly in Bolivia, Chile and Peru; pray for the Channel Islands District, and the North West District in Ireland. On the Sheffield District, pray for the Chesterfield Circuit. On the Circuit, pray for Holy Trinity Church, Thorpe Hesley LEP.
Day 10
Give thanks for the call to follow Christ. Pray for Christians in Central America, particularly in Belize & Honduras, Panama & Costa Rica, Guyana, Guatemala, and Mexico; pray for the Chester & Stoke on Trent District. On the Sheffield District, pray for the Bolsover & Staveley Circuit. On the Circuit, pray for Revd. Jacob Kaiga & his family.
Day 11
Give thanks for opportunities of work and leisure. Pray for Christians in the Caribbean, particularly for the Leeward Islands; pray for the Cornwall District. On our District, pray for the Clay Cross Circuit. On our Circuit, pray for Brunswick, Furlong Road, St. John's & Piccadilly Methodist Churches.
Day 12
Give thanks for the truths God has enabled humanity to discover. Pray for Christians in the Caribbean, particularly in Jamaica, the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands, Haita and Cuba; pray for the Darlington District and the North East District in Ireland. On this District, pray for the Peak Circuit. On our Circuit, pray for Revd. Naomi Kaiga and her family.
Day 13
Give thanks for the intercession of Christ in Heaven. Pray for Christians in the USA & Canada; pray for the East Anglia District. On this District, pray for Cliff College. On the Circuit, pray for Broom, Greasbrough United LEP, and Talbot Lane Churches.
Day 14
Give thanks for the joy of human love and friendship. Pray for Christians in the Middle East, particularly in Israel (with the Palestinian people), Jordan and Lebanon; pray for the Isle of Man District. On our District pray for Doncaster Circuit. On the Circuit, pray for Revd. Brenda Hill & her family.
Day 15
Give thanks for our family and friends. Pray for Christians in the Indian Subcontinent, particularly in Pakistan and Bangladesh; pray also for Leeds District and the Belfast District in Ireland. On our District, pray for the Barnsley Circuit. On the Circuit, pray for Revd. Alistair Sharp & his family.
Day 16
Give thanks for the peace of God which passes all understanding. Pray for Christians in India (North and South); pray for the Lincoln & Grimsby District. On the District, pray for our Rotherham & Dearne Valley Circuit. On the Circuit pray for Rawmarsh and Ryecroft Churches.
Day 17
Give thanks for our share in Christ's ministry of reconciliation. Please pray today for Christians in Asia, particularly in Myanmar/Burma and Nepal; and the Liverpool District. On this District, please pray forRetford Circuit. On the Circuit, please pray for our developing work at Upper Haugh & Parkgate.
Day 18
Give thanks for all who are agents of Christ's compassion. Pray for Christians in Asia, particularly in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and East Timor; pray for the Manchester and Stockport District. On the Sheffield District, pray for Worksop & Kiveton Circuit. On the Circuit, pray for Jon Bellfield & Andy Day (Student Ministers) and their families.
Day 19
Give thanks for all opportunities to proclaim the Gospel. Pray for Christians in Asia, particularly in Singapore and Malaysia; pray for the Newcastle upon Tyne District. On the Sheffield District, pray for the District as a whole, and Revd. Vernon Marsh our Chair in particular. On the Circuit, pray for Anne Holmes (Circuit Administrator) & her family.
Day 20
Give thanks for the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. Pray for Christians in the Far East, particularly in China and Hong Kong; pray for the North Lancashire District and the Down District in Ireland. Pray for the Chester & Stoke on Trent District. On the Circuit, pray for David Ryan (Treasurer) and his family.
Day 21
Give thanks for the ministry of the Word, the sacraments and prayer. Pray for Christians in the Far East, particularly in Korea and Japan; pray for the Nottingham and Derby District. On the Circuit, pray for our Circuit Meeting, Leadership Team, and the Working Groups. Pray for our Circuit Stewards: Peter Drabble, Barbara Ludditt, Mary Timmiss, Rita Rutherford, Alan Sherriff, & Anne Wright.
Day 22
Give thanks for our baptism and our call to serve Christ. Pray for Christians in Australia and New Zealand; pray for the Northampton District. On the Circuit, pray for our Local Preachers, particularly those who are in training.
Day 23
Give thanks for our part in the mission of Christ to the world. Pray for Christians in the Pacific, particularly for Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, and the Pacific Conference of Churches; pray for the Plymouth and Exeter District. On the Circuit, pray for our ecumenical partners regionally and in our local communities.
Day 24
Give thanks for unity, God's will and gift to the Church. Pray for Christians in the Pacific, particularly for Tonga, Samoa, and Fiji; pray for the Sheffield District and the Portadown District in Ireland. On the Circuit, pray that we will be able to work on the 'Our Calling' focal points: Worship / Learning and Caring / Service / and Evangelism.
Day 25
Give thanks for the suffering and victory of Christ. Pray for Christians across Europe, particularly in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Russia; pray for the Southampton District. On the Circuit, pray for the development of the new Circuit Mission Policy and organisation.
Day 26
Give thanks for the power of Christ to transform our suffering. Pray for Christians in Europe, particularly in Belgium and Germany; pray for the West Yorkshire District. On the Circuit pray for the Circuits that border our own Circuit.
Day 27
Give thanks for signs of renewal in the Church through the Holy Spirit. Pray for Christians in Central Europe, particularly in Algeria, Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Hungary, Poland, Switzerland and France. Pray for the Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury District. On the District pray for the Chairman's Secretary, Anne Hutton & the Synod Secretary, John Simms.
Day 28
Give thanks for God's faithful departed servants who have revealed his grace and enriched our Christian pilgrimage. Pray for Christians in Central Europe, particularly Serbia and Montenegro, and in Macedonia; pray for the York and Hull District. On the District, pray for Caroline Riley, our Training and Development Officer.
Day 29
Give thanks for our foretaste of the life of the world to come. Pray for Christians in Southern Europe, particularly for Portugal, Spain, and Italy; pray for the Scotland District and the Shetland District. On the Sheffield District, pray for Susanna Brookes, our District Evangelism Enabler. On the Circuit, pray for the staff changes and upheavals expected in the summer of 2007.
